Recently, on Memorial Day (let's just pretend that was recently), I had a big sewing room set back. My basement sewing studio got flooded with raw sewage. It is hard to describe how dis-heartening this was, and has been. That day, my husband and I spend five hour in rain boots, gloves, and masks dealing with the worst of it. Deciding what could be saved; What was a loss; Then Shop Vacuuming up gallons and gallons of gross water.

The losses were minimal and we have insurance that covers water back up, which makes it better, and I must be thankful for that. However, it has completely thrown a wrench into everything. It has been month of sewing supplies in storage, dry wall removal, disinfecting, and rebuilding. I was told to take out anything I needed in the next two months. Who can plan two months ahead in sewing projects!? LOL. I am relocated my sewing room to the family room, which also has my fitting room. It's been so hard to keep my mini sewing room annex neat and tidy. I hate for alterations customers to see the mess.

To say the least, it has been a crazy summer, which is why you haven't been hearing that much from me. I hope to soon be back to my regular schedule, and I will sharing the Sewing Room rebuild with you. I'm so excited to be back in my regular space.
